Mastering the CSS Grid System

This is an example of nesting items in the CSS Grid System.
The CSS Grid Layout system is the most powerful layout system available in CSS. New to CSS3 the CSS Grid adds a 2-dimensional systen to laying out our pages. The ability to layout both columns and rows with minimal markup adds a dimension to how we will layout pages going forward. You work with the Grid Layout using CSS rules at both a parent level and a child level in your CSS document.
Unlike Flexbox, which works on a single dimensional plane, the CSS Grid works on both columns and rows giving us a true 2-dimensional layout scheme. Working with Flexbox, the CSS Grid can handle very complex layouts with very little markup. It is a tremendous leap forward in how we layout our web application pages. The browser support is well over 80% and will soon become a requirement for fast, responsive pages.
Mastering the CSS3 Flexbox Module
The Flexbox module allows for very precise control over your HTML elements. The Flexbox Module is based on a single plane methodology. Many projects are covered in the series.
When combined with the CSS Grid system very complex layouts can be achieved. This is one of the projects covered in the Flexbox module.
The Flexbox Module is one of the newest features of CSS3, and in my opinion one of the best. The ability to layout web pages without having to use floats and the CSS Box Model, takes much of the aggravation of CSS page layout away. The Flexbox Concept is that the defining aspect of the flex layout is the ability to alter its items' width and/or height to best fit in the available space on any display device. It is a great addition to CSS3 and the module has support of over 98% of the browsers currently in use, and growing stronger daily.
